Common questions about influencer analytics

Which metrics matter most when vetting an influencer?

The three that actually predict campaign performance are Audience Quality Score, engagement rate relative to the benchmark for that creator's tier and platform, and demographic fit. Follower count tells you far less than most people expect, so it's not a primary metric you can rely on.

AQS measures the estimated percentage of a creator's following made up of active, human accounts. Engagement rate only means something when compared against creators of similar size on the same platform. Demographic fit tells you whether their audience is actually the one you're trying to reach.

How does HypeAuditor detect fake followers?

HypeAuditor analyzes 53 behavioral patterns for each creator to assess audience quality and spot signs of fake or suspicious activity. This includes the follower-to-following ratio, sudden spikes in follower growth, account details such as empty bios or generic usernames, and engagement patterns that may indicate bots, automated activity, or engagement pods. These indicators are combined to give a detailed view of how an audience behaves and identify unusual patterns.

This detailed, multi-signal approach allows HypeAuditor’s fraud detection model to identify 95.5% of known fraud activity.

How often is the data in an influencer report updated?

Reports refresh weekly, with more frequent updates for high-activity accounts. Once you unlock an advanced report, it stays refreshed for 365 days at no additional cost, so the data stays current for the length of a campaign cycle without spending another credit.

What's the difference between a standard and an advanced report?

The standard report is free to open on any creator and covers content categories, engagement rate, estimated reach, average views, growth rate, price and performance evaluation, and brand mentions.

The advanced report unlocks the full data set, including Audience Quality Score (AQS), audience type and quality breakdown, full demographics, following & engagement rate history, lookalike creators, and more. Advanced reports cost one credit each, and credit volume depends on your plan.

Does HypeAuditor have reports for TikTok and YouTube, or only Instagram?

Yes. HypeAuditor provides analytics reports for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X (Twitter), Snapchat, and Twitch. Each report includes metrics specific to that platform. For example, YouTube reports include Channel Quality Score and brand mention history from the last 90 days, while TikTok reports cover hashtag challenge performance and video-level analytics. Twitch reports include average concurrent viewers and stream duration. The depth of available metrics varies by platform and plan.

Can I export reports or share them with clients?

Yes. Reports export to PDF, Excel, and PPTX. Agency teams on eligible plans can also white-label reports before sharing them with clients, so the presentation matches your own branding.

What does an Audience Quality Score mean?

The Audience Quality Score (AQS) is HypeAuditor's proprietary metric for measuring what percentage of a creator's following is made up of real, active accounts. It runs on a scale of 0 to 100 and is calculated from 53 behavioral patterns including follower growth velocity, like-to-comment ratios, and mass-following activity. AQS is the starting point for analyzing an influencer properly because it tells you whether the rest of the data comes from a real audience or one that has been artificially boosted. Every report includes AQS and its breakdown in the overview.
